This is the image that I scanned from a page in 'total guitar' magazine - one of the magazines I used as a research point. I took the idea of a guitar boarder theme from the bottom of this magazine with the yellow boarder of a skyline.

Final middle page:

• After creating my contents page I used the template for my centre page to make it relevant in the magazine.
• The colours make the white writing stand out.
• The main image of "Eleanor Wood" the guitarist overlaps the other page to make them as one.
• The image in the top right hand side of the page is in a green and black boarder so it doesn't look like it is floating irrelevantly on the page.
• The bottom right image is used as a boarder and fits well on the page because it is overlapped by the main image and the quote writing.
• The bottom black line contains a tag line and also makes a boarder. The line continues on from the quote in big white letters that says "Eleanor Wood give them some..." this is a play on her last name "Wood" used to mean "Would" to make the quote interesting and catchy so when the reader sees the page it will make them want to read the article.
• The Main body of text contains an interview of the band members. The column of text on the left side of the main image is a short summary of the band; like a review.
• The feature band "In The Bushes" name is lined across the guitar neck to make it stand out, be aesthetically pleasing and use up wasted space.
• It wasn't possible to text wrap the writing around the guitarist image because i didn't want all the writing to be like it, only the interview. Alternatively I manipulated the text boxes to line around the image shapes and the text followed suit.

2nd draft of middle page:

• I put an image in the middle of the text on the right page and text wrapped the writing around the image after cutting it out on Photoshop.
• The quote "Are you in the bushes?" is too similar to the title of the band for it to stand out and interest people so i will change it to something more interesting.
• All the images do not fit together and relate to each other effectively which make the page look messy and unorganized.
• Overall It does not fit with the front cover.

This is a practice of two pages for the middle page to see how using more images will work.

• The one on the left looks messy where the images overlap and the top image looks like it is cutting off the page.
• The page on the right looks effective with the band image as a boarder and two columns of text. It could look better with an image in the middle of the text below the "exclusive" title.

1st middle page draft:

• Using an image of the band across the middle of the page doesn't give much room for other images and the writing is lost.
• The writing will be an interview with the main band members.
• The white writing will be a quote from the interview to get the readers interested and read the whole article.

3rd Contents Page:

• This is the layout of the final contents page. I have used the guitar bottom template I created and added a black and white tag boarder to run along the bottom. It tells the buyer or potential buyer browsing the contents page where to find the poster featured in the magazine issue and shown on the front cover.
• The red makes the white text stand out and easy to read. I need to fill in the text to finish the contents page.
• The image is similar to the one on the front cover to make it inviting and relevant.
• I have only used a few colours: Red, White, Black and Green so the page is not overrun with colour which could cause confusion.
• The template guitars takes up a lot of space which could have been used for text or images but as it is only a contents page with minimal writing and small photographs that would feature later in the magazine, I felt it was necessary to use the template and make the magazine presentable.

Guitar Bottom:

• Needing something to make my pages relevant to each other while looking presentable and following the themes and genre, I created this template for my contents and centre page. It would also follow onto the other pages in the magazine to make it recognizable.
• The guitars were created through text using the font "Screaming Guitar" that was downloaded from "DaFont". I typed one letter of a guitar that looked good into a text box and moved all the guitars around onto the red and green background.
• The red of the background matches the front cover and will be a presentable background for images and text.
• The green gives the guitars relevance while matching the colour scheme and will be a suitable border for the pages.
